We have to convince people that voting principal is the only way to reclaim out country. The 2 major parties are no longer 2 but one party "two sides of the progressive movement" They should merge into one party. Why do we believe that a 2 party system is correct? We owe ourselves to vote principal not partisan. It breaks my heart to see that the 2 major parties have told us that lie for so long that people believe it’s truth. Yesterday I heard on the radio a guy say we lived in a Democracy and someone said no it’s a Republic. His response was no a Republic has only one leader so we could not be a Republic. And no one corrected him, just went to news. I know it’s only entertainment but this kind of thing has been happening in the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />USA for far too long. They are teaching our children that we live in a Democracy. Not true. It’s time to wake up the masses and educate them to the difference. We live in a Republic (rule of law), not a Democracy (majority rule). Sure you may vote for a representative by majority, and he may vote on laws by majority but the Constitution is the Law that protects us from the majority vote. You cannot be denied your rights because of the majorities vote on anything. Oh they can try but you can fight them because of the Constitution. That’s why we live in a Republic and God help us we shall keep it that way. I urge each and every one of you to read the Constitution know your rights, you cannot defend them if you don’t know what they are. Then look and see if either of the major parties is looking out for you and your rights, all of them not just some. If they are not, seek out the candidate or candidates that are, and vote in principal with the knowledge that your fellow Americans are doing the same this year!

Day Eleven

So last night I started thinking of the number 1 Trillion. Its hard to just picture it. Here it is 1,000,000,000,000. Not too intimidating. Until you think of some of the other analogies. I looked some up and the one that stands out to me is this. If you had a stack of crisp brand new $1000 bills and you started stacking them not lining them up but stacking them one on top of the other. Your stack would be over 68 miles high. Let's put that in terms Delaware can understand. You could start a journey in Wilmington and have that same stack alongside the road laying on its side (not the bills but the stack) and drive to Milford De and that same stack of $1000 bills would be stacked alongside the road the entire trip. It's staggering to think in terms of trillions, almost impossible to comprehend in reality because you dont actually see trillions of anything. Even the late Carl Sagan only referred to Billions and Billions of stars. I don't think it matters today if you are liberal or conservative a trillion has to set some sort of pucker factor. I think that if you really examine it the two major parties are taking us to the same place they are just taking different roads to get there. I believe its time to stop and get off the Demlicans bus and go back to our "home", remember that, the home of the brave. A place that is founded in the Constitution and has freedom and liberty for all. Principal not partisan voting will save us.

10 - another monday

Well good news we are days away from a new website. Lets all pretend we own a great big beautiful house and oh by the way you have just found out that you have unlimited funds. Your life is now on easy street. So you have decided that you are going to hire a maid. You hire a maid on a one year contract and you give him/her a task list of things you want done. Lets say there are 18 of them, ranging from sweeping the floor, cleaning the bathroom, to doing the dishes. You're very specific in the duties he/she is to perform. One thing you are very neurotic about is your new car. You love that car and can spend hours washing and waxing that beauty. But every time you turn around your maid is trying to wash your car, oh and he/she doesn't do a very good job at it. You also notice that the maid is trying to balance your checkbook, plant a garden, and tutor your neighbors kids in Algebra. Oh and I forgot to mention that not once in that year did he/she ever clean the bathroom. So my question to you is simple. Would you re-hire that maid at the end of the year? I know I wouldn't! Yet we continue to send people to our capitols state and federal that we know are not doing the job we want done. In my life I have never ever met a person liberal or conservative that said "I want a politician that will sell us down the river, I want the guy that is corrupt and will take kickbacks for the good of special interests over the people." Yet if you ask most people they will tell you that's what we have in politics. So how do these people get into these jobs? We send them there, over and over again. It's time for a real change, not just on the surface from one side of the coin to the other but clean house. If you have ever been to Washington to do anything other than look at the monuments you are out! Someone told me that you can't just elect someone for President with out political experience. I said to him why not? He replied that you need to know how the government works that you have to know the inside track. I told him....there is an 8 page document that tells us everything we need to know about how to do that job. Don't be fooled by the rhetoric coming from the major parties. Stop voting partisan and start voting principal. DEM and REP are the same party they just keep you involved by having two different versions of rhetoric....Yet we have arrived at this point in history because of both of the "parties". I say to them the party is over!

day Seven

I never wanted to go into politics. To continue down the same path for the nation. How do you convince people to vote principal not partisan. I believe that the Dems and Repubs are both working the same approach but from different angles. We need to breakaway. New school safety Czar. First I have heard of him was last night at a 9-12 meeting. So I looked him up to day to see why there was an issue with this man. It appears that at some point in his past he had a 15 year old (was later stated 16) boy that came to him and told him about a relationship he was having with an adult. He counseled this boy to wear a condom? My understanding is that according to ethics principals and perhaps law (this I do not know for sure), he was obligated to report the incident. He did not. His supporters say "but look at the distinguished career he has had other than that". I ask you this, how many people sitting in prison had or would have had a distinguished career other than one mistake. How many others have lost the opportunity to have long distinguished careers because of one mistake that got them removed from their job. So because he was not caught it should be overlooked. Well now he's caught for lack of a better term, do we just ignore what was done? Because right now there is no-one more qualified in the nation to fill this position? You know communists are just impatient progressives and somewhere between the two is socialist. Time to do away with Czars all together. Thanks Republican party! Time to vote non-partisan - Don't send either party back to Washington ever again.

Day five (yes I'm alternating)

One of my favorite quotes from President Reagan is "Government exists to protect us from each other. Where government has gone beyond its limits is in deciding to protect us from ourselves." This goes hand in hand with my 2nd favorite quote from President Washington "It will be found an unjust and unwise jealousy to deprive a man of his natural liberty upon the supposition he may abuse it." Today I would like to talk about personal liberties. I understand and agree that if you think if rights as a bubble around your person, that as long as your rights bubble doesn't infringe on someone else's rights bubble then you are fine. However its when those two bubbles impact where our government must step in and determine the correct path to resolve the issue. Not necessarily the federal government but keep in mind all levels. However I'm conflicted in a few areas. Drugs is a big one. I believe that your body belongs to you and you have a right to do with it as you please. If your choice is to work out 8 hours a day and eat right great, but if you decide to eat cheeseburgers and drink beer all day same difference. It's your body, and you will deal with the consequences of your actions. You must keep in mind I am not affording the latter the out of not having responsibilities. You are responsible for your own health care, don't kill yourself with cheeseburgers and expect your neighbors to pay for your doctor bills. However I was talking about drugs.... I think the studies on the effects of narcotics and the nature and speed of addiction is enough that it must be keep from being freely available. I have not heard an argument in contrast. I must say that I would be willing to listen if there is one. Everyday I notice things that our government has usurped from us. Marriage license...I have an unlimited right to contract why do I need a license from the state?
Just a thought, did you know there was once a movement in 1912 to amend the constitution to make it illegal to marry between races?

day 4

Overcast today...must be Saturday. My wife's dog is in getting surgery for bladder stones, again. Not looking forward to that bill. Going to see what we have to cut back on to pay for that one. However one light at the end of the tunnel is we have decided to start shopping around for health care for our pets. Its a start but we will utilize the free market to get the best care at the best price. This is one that we don't have insurance for, but I see a new market for pet insurance starting and it worries me that it will become a standard just like it is in our health care. The fact that everyone has insurance has taken the free market aspect out of health care. Insurance companies and health care industry bodies ( I don't want to say providers) have set the prices for us with no input from the consumer. I would not buy milk with out looking at the price nor would I get my car fixed without getting some estimates. I agree that for most large things, and I will not try to define them all, such as diseases and major injuries you should have insurance. However are we benefited by having insurance for our fevers, stuffed noses and aches and pains? Things that prompt us to just go in for an office visit. If that cost was out of pocket and not much more than it is with a co-pay would that not decrease the amount of staff the Dr had to have? That would result in prices being lower and insurance would not have to deal with every Doctors visit just the major one, that seems to reason less overhead and less prices. I don't pretend to know all the answers but on the surface it seems that insurance has helped drive up prices not keep them low. Free market is the answer not more legislation.

Day Three

Another day in the life of the campaign.... Was contacted by a person ready to change the world. I love the enthusiasm. It's been a breath of fresh air, having someone join that is as optimistic as I am about our chances. Third party candidates just don't win! Not this time Mr. This candidate is going to win! Our message is pure, and we will do the work necessary to get the message out. I think when people see that 85% of all people Dems, Rep, and Ind are all fed up with congress. They will see that its our time.

Lets talk Fair Tax: I looked this over and it seems to be a good system -compared with income tax everything does. I don't see us getting back to the pre 1913 system anytime soon. However there is one fatal issue with this plan, there is no provision that makes sure the government can not do both. In other words if the Fair Tax plan is implemented the bill doesn't stipulate that the 16th amendment must be repealed before it can be enacted. We must ensure that congress doesn't have the power to tax both ways or they will! If elected I would push to have any new tax system that was to be put in place contain the repeal of Income Tax or a "no" vote from me! President Reagan said it best - The problem is not the people are taxed to little, its that government spends to much. Keep in mind this country worked just fine for over 100 years without an income tax. Perhaps we should re-think providing free cell phones to welfare recipients.

Day 2

Well the second wave of Snow has come and gone. I went out yesterday to rescue my neighbor (who is a nurse) from a snow bank. Guided her back home and all was right with the world. Thank goodness there were no other requests for emergency help yesterday as the conditions were very bad. Several times I had to use the force to continue. I am prepping myself for the coming months on the campaign trail. Thinking of ways to communicate to groups. Without writing a speech, but more just defining my talking points. Still trying to build up a core group of supporters to put together the ground work. I keep telling myself its a huge job interview. You are all my potential boss. I just need to show you I can do this job better than the others in line.

Day one...

So here I am, starting to blog for the first time. Where to begin? I am just a normal guy, up to 6 months ago happy in my little world of Family and Friends. Then watching the news and getting more and more concerned about the state of the US. I could take no more. Trillions and Trillions of dollars being spent, that we don't have. Will this affect us? No. My children and my children's children will pay the price. I knew I had to act. I was fed up just like so many of my fellow Americans. I talked and talked about doing something, well I finally decided to run for Congress. To many politicians using politics as a career. No longer thinking of the people only how to keep their jobs. Enough already! I am an honest man and I have read the Constitution, what more do you need. Obviously going to law school is not the answer as all the lawyers that we sent up there up to now have been messing up the system sense day one. So it begins; I started as an Independent candidate and found the Libertarian party. Its a good match. Conservative yet not Progressive. Its not a party that has tried to direct my platform but support it. I don't agree on every plank that they have, but enough matches up to make it a good fit. So I will try to win on the Libertarian ticket. I think we can do it. We will need help, it must be a grass roots effort. http://www.wangen2010.com/ is our temp site with a new one coming sometime this month I'm told.
